Because We Do Things Naturally At Kokopelli

Out of a household that includes 7 dogs, I have only one that has an ongoing fear of thunder. We have worked on it for the past several years and her symptoms lessen each year. At the beginning of each spring, when the thunderstorms begin, ...we have re-enforce the lessons learned in prior years .

Today we had the first thunderstorm of the season and when Lindsay, the one with the fear, started to pace, pant and become agitated, she stirred up the other dogs to the point that another dog, Reagan, was trying to jump up into my lap.

It was obvious I need to get everyone calmed down, which at this point seemed as though it would be next to impossible, with 4 dogs in constant motion and emitting vocalizations of anxiety.

In my mind, the need to alleviate the the tension and fear these dog were going through, was paramount. Immediately, I grounded myself, called up my Reiki guides and sent out Reiki for all the dogs in the room.

Within a minute or less, all 4 dogs calmed down, their breathing returned to normal and in less than 2 minutes, all of them were laying down and nodding off to sleep. This while still in the midst of a thunderstorm that was rocking the house.

Each time I use Reiki with my animals, I feel blessed to be attuned and capable of lessoning their anxiety.

Karen Krueger has written an excellent article on Reiki for dogs, including dogs with thunder fear. Reiki for dogs
Enjoy these lovey spring days, including thunderstorms!
p.s. For those who have asked, I will post new puppy photos as soon as they arrive.

Wow Tess, I've heard using Reiki on animals was really affective. Good to know. Maybe I should take some classes. Heck, maybe I should have it done on me. ;) Loved the article. Thanks so much
